What does Tshepo Ya Bana do in South Africa?
Tshepo Ya Bana empowers vulnerable children (OVC), supports people living with or affected by HIV, and provides harm reduction programmes for people who use drugs. We focus on education, feeding schemes, HIV testing services (HTS), and community development to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
How can I support Tshepo Ya Bana’s programmes?
You can support us by making a donation, sponsoring a child, volunteering your time, or partnering with us on programmes such as Early Childhood Development (ECD), HIV Testing Services, and community feeding schemes. Every contribution helps plant seeds of hope in disadvantaged communities.
Is HIV testing with Tshepo Ya Bana confidential and safe?
Yes — all HIV Testing Services (HTS) offered by Tshepo Ya Bana are 100% confidential, safe, and conducted with dignity and respect. We provide pre-test counselling, testing, post-test guidance, and linkages to treatment for those who need it most.
Does Tshepo Ya Bana work with people who use drugs (PWUD/PWID)?
Absolutely. Through our Global Fund-supported programmes, we offer harm reduction services, Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST), HIV and Hepatitis prevention, and human rights advocacy. Our approach is rooted in compassion, aiming to reduce stigma while improving health outcomes and quality of life.
How does Tshepo Ya Bana help orphans and vulnerable children (OVC)?
We provide children with daily meals, homework assistance, access to education, and psychosocial support. We also run feeding schemes, home visits, community dialogues, and anti-GBV campaigns to protect and uplift children who are at risk or orphaned due to HIV and poverty.
